New features and modified options can be seen in the demo. The new version includes a check for the bad words in almost all sections of the site (Email, in registration section: particularly Personal Headline, My Notice, Comments Rating, Mailbox, IM, Gallery); watermark on the images and the possibility for users to comment their photos, audio and video files; a new, more convenient administrator menu design; birthday reminders and new quick search options; approve of the profiles before publishing and many more. Pilot Group have also updated and uploaded a new Admin Manual for their Dating Pro. I am sure it will be helpful for all the customers. As for me I have also enjoyed the additional modules and color themes, new interface and functionality of a dating software. Choose a Color theme for your Dating Site.08:58:54 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles Colors influence our life greately. Of course when a user views the site, the first thing that appeals ia a color theme. In our Dating Software we have several color themes. Today I would like to help you to choose an appropriate color for your dating site.
Pink is a softer, less violent red. Pink is the sweet side of red. It's cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little girls. Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit. Orange is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colors. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow. Brown is a natural, down-to-earth neutral color. It is found in earth, wood, and stone.
Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of the color blue. Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, renewal, health, and environment. On the flip side, green is jealousy or envy (green-eyed monster) and inexperience. Gray is a neutral, balanced color. It is a cool, conservative color that seldom evokes strong emotion although it can be seen as a cloudy or moody color. There were the main color aspects and meanings. You can use the power of colors to make your site attractive for your community of people. If you have any other additions I'll be glad to read your comments. How to create a logo for your Dating Site.04:54:19 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles Logotype is a very important attribute of a Dating Site. It's like a brand of a product. Usually a logo is a site's name that consists of images, words and colors. Images Words Naming a site after its domain name is important, for the simple reason that when people think of your website, they'll think of it by name. If your name is also your URL, they'll automatically know where to go. If you're just starting out, you might prefer the cheaper alternative of trying to obtain a domain name first, and then naming your website (or business) after the domain that you've acquired. Domain names can be of any length up to 67 characters. Some argue that shorter domain names are easier to remember, easier to type and far less susceptible to mistakes. Others argue that a longer domain name is usually easier on the human memory cause they are better to remember due to a meaningful name. Some of these arguments are actually academic. It's increasingly difficult to get short meaningful domain names. I have not checked, but I'm fairly certain that names like "getit.com" and "good.com" have long been sold. If you manage to get a short domain name though, the key is to make sure it's a meaningful combination of characters and not the obscure. Long domain names that have your site keywords in them also have an advantage in that they fare better in a number of search engines. The latter give preference to keywords that are also found in your domain names. Should you get a hyphenated name? There are a few things to consider here: * Disadvantage: It's easy to forget the hyphens when typing a name. Many users are used to typing things without hyphens. They'll probably leave out the hyphens and wind up at your competitor's site. * Disadvantage: When people recommend your site to their friends verbally, having hyphens in your domain name leads to more potential errors than when the name does not contain hyphens. * Advantage: Search engines can distinguish your keywords better and thus return your site more prominently in search results for those keywords occurring in your domain name. * Advantage: The non-hyphenated form may no longer be available. At least this way, you still get the domain name you want. Colors For a dating site it's better to use warm colors (Red, Pink, Yellow, Gold, Orange) cause they are cheerful and attractive. They are associated with love and affection. But anyway you have to consider the goal of the site to choose a right color theme and a color for the logotype. One thing I should note there is that the logo image should be prominent, nice and appealing to attaract visitors to your site. In the end, the logotype should have apersonal touch of the author to acquire a certain charm and become a brand of your site. That's why I wish you creativity and success! Dating symbols at your Dating Site.11:42:45 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
If you start a Dating Site you should think about the targeted auditory and the purpose of the site and then choose symbols to use at your site's design. I have determined several most popular themes for dating Sites and would like to diffrenciate symbols you can use for them: 1. Love and dating * Ribbons, Laces and Frills- Ribbons and frills have been associated with romance since the days of knighthood when a knight rode into battle with a ribbon or scarf given him by his lady fair. The dictionary states that the word "Lace" comes from a Latin word meaning to "snare" or "noose". Hundred years ago, woman dropped her laced handkerchief in hopes that a man picked it up and gave it to her. Thus, attracting his attention to encourage romance. Chocolate boxes and valentine cards are hence decorated with lace. * Heart- Emotional feelings arise from the heart. A person feels love, hate, happiness, anger, jealousy or fear and it’s the chemistry that clicks such emotions. Love is connected with the heart and is a symbol of Valentine because it is ‘Love that’s makes the world go round’ or for some ‘Love is in the air’ – Love is an affair of the heart.
* Hands- A lady's hands was a favorite decoration that depicted "femininity." Its beauty was enhanced by adding a frilly cuff and a jeweled ring on the third finger. Clasped hands represent those of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and were symbols of the friendship between their countries of Germany and England. Years ago, when a man proposed marriage to a woman, he ‘asked for her hand’ – The hand became a symbol of marriage and love. So, followed the glove. * Turtle Doves and Love Birds- It was thought that birds chose their mate for the year on February 14. Doves and pigeons mate for life and therefore were used as a symbol of "fidelity." Doves were the favourite birds of Venus and they hold same mates lifetime. They have loyalty, love and peace. Lovebirds are the colorful parrots with red bills found usually in Africa. They sit closely together in pairs and hence, called Love Birds. * Love Knots- It is a symbol of endless love. A windled and interlaced loops with no beginning or end. Love knots are made with ribbon or fancy lace and even drawn on cards or piece of paper and passed on to the love with a message often written on it.
* Friendship Stones- Friendship stones are a symbol of the happiness that is shared between two friends and are supposed to bring luck and happiness to your relationship. Present a bag of stones to your close friends and see your friendship grow. * Chinese friendship symbol (see the image above)- pronunciation: yo yi. It brings luck and harmony into friendship. * Dog- is is animal that was regarded as a best friend for everyone. It's also associated with friendship. * letters, phone and presents- they are symbols for friends and penpals. They remind us of our meetings and communication. 3. Hobbies * making things- some symbols of creativity and art So you can use these symbols at your dating sites and motivate your users to register at your site. They also transfer the main idea of the site to your visitors. Moreover, you can gather a community you need at your site. We're all bound to stereotypes. Dating stereotypes, what are they? I'm sure, you can name some at once. Something like never kiss at a first date or that a man should call first and so on. Today I'm interested in online dating stereotypes. Are they different from those above? Three economists - Günter J. Hitsch, Ali Hortaçsu (both from the University of Chicago) and Dan Ariely (from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) - examined the experiences of a sample of users of a major online dating service and subjected it to empirical scrutiny. They found out that the most important variable in online dating, for both men and women, is looks. Furthermore, posting a photo is a big help: women who post photos receive about twice as many e-mail messages as those who do not, even when they report that they have "average looks." This is how it was: the researchers asked University of Chicago undergraduates to rate the users' physical attractiveness based on the photos, adding another variable to the mix. There was a strong Lake Wobegon effect in the data, with only 1 percent of the population admitting to having "less than average" looks. Even so, only a third actually posted a photo. The reported weights of the women were substantially less than national averages and about 30 percent were blonde. The reported weights of the men were consistent with national averages and only about 12 percent were blond. Having a lot of money is good for attracting e-mail messages, at least for men. Those men reporting incomes in excess of $250,000 received 156 percent more e-mail messages than those with incomes below $50,000. Women like men with a higher income than they have but men do not want to date women who earn more than they do. This means that in the sphere of online dating not actions but static things play a great role: look and money. I don't know really what to say on this point. I can add minor stereotypes: weight, height, baldiness, profession, hobbies, nationality and all the other points that we're filling in when registering at a dating site. So may be it's better not to fill in the profile not to produce stereotypes, only place a great photo and indicate your income :) Experiment! Today I've read an article that made me think about how men watch the girls. First you notice every action, study her; then they make an attack... You know what separates successful guys from chumps who are never successful with women? Attitude. The attitude of: "Who cares?" You've no doubt had times in your life when you worked hard to learn a certain ability or skill. You had small successes, but the "big breakthrough" seemed far away and unreachable. Then at some point, you got fed up with your failures and went on with your life with an attitude of "Who cares?" Suddenly, within a few weeks or months, you found yourself reaching your desired goal. The same thing happened to the author of the article when he started learning how to attract women. For months and years of my life, he piled up failure after failure. Then when he was really scraping the bottom, he decided to throw everything out the window. He just went on with my life and started doing what he wanted to do. Then suddenly, he found that he had more and more women around who were into him, and he found himself achieving the success he'd always desired. You know what most people are looking for? They aren't looking for a bigger car, a hotter girlfriend or more power. Deep inside, they're looking for MORE FREEDOM - they just don't know it yet. Freedom means not being influenced by your external circumstances - when something wrong happens, you shake yourself off and move on with a "who cares?" attitude … because it always happens, but FREEDOM is something no one can take away from you. Take the nerd and the player. Both are dependent on women: The nerd is unhappy because he's alone; the player needs the constant validation he gets from girls who are into him. Then there's the guy who's FREE. He's learned to live the life he enjoys; thus, he's happy whether he's alone or with a girl. Let's say our guy meets a hot girl, and instead of working to please her, he simply gives what he is (himself). If she likes it, she can take it and be a part of his life. If she doesn't like it, she can move on - it's her decision. But still, our guy is FREE and thus, he is happy - whatever she decides. He isn't influenced by her decision. Whether you admit it or not, it's widely known that it's the girl who chooses. She can reject you when you approach her; she can reject you when you go in for a kiss; she can reject you when you're about to have sex. The only thing you can control is YOUR OWN REACTION. You can react with anger - you can react with fear (how am I ever going to find another girl like her?) - or you can simply react with: Who cares? Then he mentioned "secret of the ages": There is nothing more attractive to a woman than a man who is FREE. A man who does what pleases him, a man who goes after what he wants and lives out his deepest desires and the life he craves. Such a man might not be able to bed 100 percent of the women out there, but he will always have a lot of girls around him - coming back for more. Finally, a word of warning: "Who cares?" is not about carelessness and depression. It's possible to reach a state in your life when you stop caring about anything - but that's simply self-destructive. Real Freedom is what the author wanted to show us. And freedom can only come when you learn to control your emotions and walk on the road of happiness and self-discovery - which is a journey toward living an authentic life and being your own man - a Real Man - the Real YOU. Sell yourself online- post an ad!12:07:15 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
Though as BBC news reports, with one in five Britons now using dating ads to meet people, according to a report by Telecom Express, first impressions count more than ever. The most experienced dating coach in the UK Mary Balfour has been hard at the grindstone running Drawing Down the Moon for over fifteen years. Having interviewed and matched thousands of people Mary is still very much 'hands on' in charge the day-to-day running of our agency (see the photo), says there's no bigger turn-off than being negative. The reasons are numerous. The most frequent of them is that you can look foolosh at the ad and loose all chances. At the same time Mary Balfour gives advice on how to write your dating ad and win a dating prize! It's rather simple: "Don't say 'I don't want to meet someone who's tight with money.' Far better to say 'I'd like to meet someone generous.' And don't write a CV, try to inject some feelings into it. Remember, [your ad] could be your first exposure to your future partner." In addition to it, usually people like to see what they're getting - ads with photos tend to get more page views than those which rely on words alone to paint a picture. Indeed, when you look the profile online it takes much time and effort to choose a profile to look through and then list the pages. In situation with ads, you are able to view a lot of site users in a short period of time. Good photos and short mottos characterize people better then long and boring profiles with fixed questions. Ads are good for speed dating. And people can exchange necessary information later on while emailing each other and chatting online. It can be really challenging ;)
Millions are meeting Online and the great thing about cyberspace is you can be whoever you want to be. Ashley Blake, Inside Out's intrepid reporter, checking out Internet dating for himself, chose a site at random and logged on. "All you have to do is type in a name, address and your age … and click. For a new Midlands company, cyber love is big business. And they claim it is safe. They are offering lonely hearts the chance to have their mug shot and email details posted on huge billboards. For the housewives who came up with the idea it's boom time." Natalie paid £60 a week to advertise on the billboards. The nerve centre for this cutting edge, 'would like to meet', operation is a converted barn and a hut in Sutton Coldfield. The staff here don't just believe they're the best, they also think they're the safest way for singles to find love. It seems an unusual approach, but single people are stumping up £60 a week to have their pictures posted on billboards. Love seekers like Natalie. Saul Hudson thought he'd fallen in cyberlove. That was until the beautiful Ukranian girl he met online turned out to be something and someone completely different. Realising something was wrong Saul logged out of the relationship, and decided to set up a website to warn others of the dangers. The site gets 300,000 hits a month. Saul and Sasha eventually found true love online. Saul also discovered that organised criminals are behind the deception. Despite everything Saul did find love online. He met Sasha … from Kiev in the Ukraine. They have been happily married for two years. Intrepid reporter, Ashley Blake, thought it was about time he tried out the dating game:"I have got an invitation to a party where hundreds of singles, who've all met on the net, are seeing each other for the very first time." Scare stories good news. Private investigators have noticed an upturn in business as suspicious singletons seek their advice. Marc gets calls from people wanting to check out Online contacts. The company even offer what they call an anonymous chaperone service. For around a £1000 they will follow your date and even film them. Marc Ingram believes this is something that will prove popular as more and more suffer blind date disasters. And finally, what about the criminal in whose name our intrepid reporter Ashley Blake registered. Did anyone fancy a date with him? We will never know, as we only left his details on for two minutes. But one thing is for sure, there are people, not unlike him, logging on right now! Launching a Dating Site. Essential Steps.10:49:05 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles So, you have decided to launch a Dating Site. The question is what time it will take. It can take from several days to a month, depending on your special requirements. I'm speaking now about a custom work over the site. For example you need a unique feature for your site and have the open source to do it yourself. Then you'll be able to make conciderable changes at your site. If you don't know how to edit a code, but have a clear idea of the changes you wish to perform you can hire a developer or a developer company to do the work for you. It'll be a bit more expensive, but will take less efforts. So it's up to you to decide. Dating Site is a special community site, extremely targeted, very emotional. That's why it should be easy to use and access. Nowadays there are a lot of companies that offer ready-made dating sites. So, it's not easy to choose. Summing up all this I can say that when starting any busines you should think everything over, make a business plan if possible, stand your line when making changes. And in conclusion, don't forget about advertisement. Take care about the ranking and key words, title and search results. Don't forget about word-of-mouth. News travels fast, especially if your service is unique. Does anticipation affect users online? How can this be seen at Dating Sites?09:07:27 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles Today I would like to cover one sphere of life that is called prediction or anticipation. Anticipation occurs in many cases. It complements the physics of reaction with the pro-active quality of the living. Nature evolves in a continuous anticipatory fashion targeted at survival. Sometimes we humans are aware of anticipation, as when we plan. Often, we are not aware of it, as when processes embedded in our body and mind take place before we realize their finality. In tennis, for example, the return of a professional serve can be successful only through anticipatory mechanisms. A conscious reaction takes too long to process. Anticipation is the engine driving the stock market. Creativity in art and design are fired by anticipation. “The end is where we start from,” T. S. Eliot once wrote. Before the archer draws his bow, his mind has already hit the target. Motivation mechanisms in learning, the arts, and all types of research are dominated by the underlying principle that a future state—the result—controls present action, aimed at success. The entire subject of prevention entails anticipatory mechanisms. Firstly, it's in user interfaces: user interfaces rely very heavily upon text and semantics in order to convey information to the user. I have found an example of this. Hopefully the images give you some idea as to how visual indexes provide information that helps you anticipate what is going on. In comparison with visual symbols they are not as precise, but that is not always a criterion, especially not with consumer electronics, i.e. you do not need to know precisely how many TV channels there are; just approximately.
Thirdly, it's in a user search result lists, when they review the headings. Anticipation acts there as a stimule to access your site. That's why the key words and phrases should meet the expectations of the user. And on the whole, anticipation matters when the users register at your dating site. The users register when they see the statistics of the site and search results. They hope to get a lot of choices and make their profile with a lot of photos. It's also anticipation cause they imply that many people will rate the profile and there will be a lot of responce. Besides, it's the same for the administrator of a dating site. We hope that the users will enjoy our site and like some unique options. We make a design, invent a name and a logotype. We hope for user anticipation, though we never know what results it will bring. We can only guess. Open source software- advantages in usage.10:43:40 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
Peter Adams (see the photo), an entrepreneur, an advisor to prominent Internet companies, an authority on Internet marketing, and the former CTO of LookSmart, states that Open source software is definitely an option for small businesses. Because you can modify the code and adapt it to your particular needs, open source is a good solution for small businesses trying to save money. You don't need to invest in a commercial solution that may come with superfluous bells and whistles. Also, you're not tied into a company's upgrade cycle and the additional license and support costs typical with a lot of commercial business software. Another advantage of using open source software that he mentiones is that it helps your development team get their projects done faster by leveraging existing code. In addition, open source code is tested and constantly refined by a community of developers that is often far larger that your internal team. This results in a stream of continuous improvements to the software that you can take advantage of without having to employ the development team to make those improvements yourself. Due to the community-contributed nature of open source software projects, it is important to understand the license implications of the software that your team might be using before incorporating open source code into your product, software, or Web site. Since not all open source software comes with the same license, there might be restrictions on how you can use or redistribute the software. From my point of view when we get the software for our business, especially a Dating Software, we should be aware of the fact that we'll need to make a lot of modifications before launching the site. We'll probably need the code. Sometimes, the owner himself doesn't know PHP and MySQl but he has a group of developers (or can hire some) to perform some work. I can figure out some additional advantages of an open source for a Dating Site: *Every Site Administrator wants to make his site unique and optional. To make it unique we have to edit the design and the functionality, offering new possibilities to our memebers. Open Source can help you with it if you know how to edit the code, or have a developer at hand. Besides, when you change yourself there are more possibilities for your imagination and simplier to explain (let's say no need to explain). * At last, Open source will help you to understand how the software works and fix the problems if they arise. In this case you will feel more confident with site administration cause you'll understand the logics. Though I don't want to make you sure that you'll be able to edit the code yourselfwith open source, but i'm sure you'll enjoy the challenge ;) Staying the distance- online and in a real life.09:54:36 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Tips
Firstly, there are some technical staff that helps: telephones, emails, IM and chats, photos. But this won't give a full picture of a person's life, won't make his or her evenings more exciting... On the other hand, there are thounds of ways to be together and be far away. For example, writing simple letters and making surprises. You can post flowers to your sweetheart and small presents. Of course, nothing can replace physical presence and it's really hard. But when you're apart for some time you get to know each other better, value each minute, share the most precious. And there's no wonder that such relationships last longer. I've found some examples of such relationships that grew into marriage. Some of them were not in the web but anyway, distance was the most factor anyway. Let me speak about Stratos (49) and Lewissa Koulis (35) live in Loanhead with their two sons, Marcos (13) and Theo (9) (see in the photo above). They run the chain of Pinocchio's Nurseries in and around Edinburgh. Here's their story: "Stratos was working at the first place my friend and I went into for a drink when we arrived on the island," says Lewissa. "Although I was attracted to this tall, dark-haired, tanned barman I wasn't looking for a boyfriend - I was single and just wanted to have fun with my girlfriend." One Bacardi and Coke led to a few more and the two got chatting. Soon they were meeting every day to go swimming and Lewissa and her friend would hang out at the bar at night. "We spent every day together. By the end of the first week I got quite a fright when I realised I was in love," she says. Lewissa did have reservations, though. "I was scared because part of me knew that holiday romances didn't last and because of the age difference between us. The fact that he had a job in America to go back to meant I was reluctant to think about a future. When we said goodbye at the airport I was really upset but although he promised to keep in touch and had already invited me out to America I was determined to wait for him to make the first move to prove he was serious." She didn't have to wait that long. "He called as soon as I got back and from then on we would write to each other every day and phone each other once a week," she says. "It was a great way to get to know each other and I have kept all the letters." It was on Lewissa's first trip to stay with Stratos in New York that her fears were finally put to rest. "I went over for about ten days and we started talking about getting engaged - I knew then it was for real," she says. "We were excited but when I phoned my parents their only concern was whether I was going to come home." They needn't have worried. Having already left Greece for America, Stratos was used to living in strange climates and was keen to move to Scotland. Safely back on home soil, Lewissa eased her parents' concerns with the news that Stratos had decided to move to Scotland permanently to be with her. They got engaged officially in July 1991 and seven months later they were married. "It would have been very easy for Lewissa's family to be suspicious of this Greek guy moving over and to question what I was going to do for a job," says Stratos. "But they were very welcoming. In fact everyone was very nice to me so there weren't any problems - apart from the weather." Lewissa's parents also met when they were young, "and because they fell in love at my age they knew what it was like for us - they never had any doubts," she says. "They even helped us set up our first business - a café and gift shop." Despite a promising start the young newlyweds both wanted to return to Greece and once their son Marcus was born in 1993 they sold the shop and used the money to set up a bar in Crete. However, after three summer seasons they both decided it was time to settle down back in Scotland. They opened the first Pinocchio's nursery in Lasswade in 1997 and now have three other branches, in Eskbank, Heriot Watt and Penicuik. "I always wanted my own business and to establish myself and now I have, I feel more at home here than ever and we are very happy," says Stratos. "We still go back to Greece for six weeks of the year - it's our second home and the boys are very aware of their Greek heritage. Perhaps in the future we will spend some more time there because it's a very special place for both of us." Nice story! There are a lot of them online. You should try to make your own someday. Navy allowed to wear uniform at gay parade, but army and air force banned08:37:36 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Humour
But it's civvies only for British Army and RAF members who want to attend Saturday's EuroPride March through Central London. Dissenting squaddies or aircrew have been warned they face disciplinary action if they do the same - because they will devalue their uniforms. Navy personnel will be wearing their full uniform with pride as they march in a rough squad formation, joining the 80 floats and 500,000 supporters during the colourful parade. The ban comes despite the fact all three services will have recruitment stands staffed by homosexual servicemen and women. The ban was put in place to ensure the dignity of wearing Army uniform was not devalued by participating in an event that has a strong fancy dress element. A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "The Navy has been working hard to ensure that personnel, no matter what their sexuality, are treated equally. The MoD added that RAF personnel would be permitted to wear clothes, such as T-shirts with RAF insignia. A spokesman from gay rights group, Stonewall said: "We are delighted that the Navy is so committed to being a gay-friendly employer. It is not having a positive effect not just on people already in the service but also on recruitment. "We would now like to see the RAF and the Army show the same unembarrassed commitment to their gay personnel." Commander Graham Beard, the Navy's diversity and equality policy officer, said: "I understand we are the first armed force in the world to march in a Pride event. "This is not just a recruitment gimmick. There is a desire to give maximum support to our lesbian, gay and bisexual personnel, as with every area of diversity. "It is heartwarming to see people determined to have a successful day, showing pride in themselves and the Navy. "Looking back, it would have been unthinkable to have done this just five years ago." The ban on homosexuals in the Armed Forces was lifted in 2000. Vice Admiral Adrian Johns, the Second Sea Lord and Commander-in-Chief of Naval Home Command has been pro-active in supporting minority personnel. He is understood to have sanctioned the march. In the past, he has spoken about the Navy's equality work at a Stonewall conference. AN AMERICAN court has lowered the age at which a girl can marry to just 12. Three Colorado appeal judges overturned a previous ruling that a 15-year-old girl, who is now 18, was too young to marry a 38-year-old man. The girl, known only as JMH of Weld County, sought the ruling after becoming pregnant with Willie Lee Rouse's child. Her mother consented to her marriage after the girl began living with Rouse at age 14 in 2002. Rouse is now in prison, serving four years for stalking, after sexual assault charges were dropped. While the ruling does not alter the state's statutory marriage age of 16 with parental consent, and 18 without it, its key ruling recognised English common law, under which marriage is legal for a 12-year-old girl or a 14-year-boy, under circumstances which include a pregnancy out of wedlock or other child issues. Ten states across the US, including the District of Columbia, recognise common-law marriages. In New Hampshire, a 13-year-old girl can marry a 14-year-old boy, though a parent or guardian can annul the marriage until one or both reach 18. "This is a real shocker," said Stephen Harhai, a Denver lawyer. "This means your 12-year-old can, with whomever, say, 'I intend to be married to you,' and that's it, [they're] married." Men have only a few seconds to impress a woman...08:12:52 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Tips
It turned up that HALF of all women make their minds up within 30 seconds of meeting a man about whether he is potential boyfriend material, according to a study on speed-dating. The women were on average far quicker at making a decision than the men during some 500 speed dates at an event organised as part of Edinburgh Science Festival. The scientists behind the research said this showed just how important chat-up lines were in dating. They found that those who were "highly skilled in seduction" used chat-up lines that encouraged their dates to talk about themselves in "an unusual, quirky way". The top-rated male's best line was "If you were on Stars In Their Eyes, who would you be?", while the top-rated female asked bizarrely: "What's your favourite pizza topping?" Failed Casanovas were those who offered up hackneyed comments like "Do you come here often?", or clumsy attempts to impress, such as "I have a PhD in computing". About a third of the speed dates were actually over within the first 30 seconds, but there was a marked difference between the sexes with 45 % of women coming to a decision within 30 seconds, compared with only 22 % of men. Professor Richard Wiseman, of Hertfordshire University, said: "Men are often accused of being shallow and judging women very quickly. However, this evidence suggests that women may make up their minds much quicker than men. It suggests men have only a few seconds to impress a woman, thus emphasising the importance of their opening comments." The study also found that women were twice as picky as the men. However, both the top-rated man and woman of the evening had a 100 per cent success rate, with every one of their dates wanting to meet them again. Conversation topics were also assessed. Only 9 per cent of pairs who talked about films agreed to meet again, compared with 18 per cent who spoke about the subject found to be the most suitable for dating: travel. It is thought women's taste for musicals clashed with the male liking for action films, while talking about "great holidays and dream destinations" made people feel good and appear more attractive to each other. A total of 70 pairs of people agreed to meet again and they were tracked over the next few months to see how they get on. Throughout the festival over 400 people had participated in an online experiment in which they had studied photographs and descriptions of Kes, Karen, Gail, Ray and Jan (see the photo above), and attempted to predict which woman Kes would find most attractive. The majority of people voted for 26 year-old nurse, Ray, with those who felt that they were especially skilled at matchmaking being convinced that she was the right woman for Kes. However, on the night, Kes chose teacher Jan as a clear winner. Today I was trying to find out the results, but failed. Suppose that teh experiment is still in progress:) And I have decided to give my own opinion. I suppose that those pairs that decided to meet again did that but not all of them became very close. The reasons are that people should find something in common not only in Travelling and films but also in their ways of life and characters. That's not seen at a first date or when practicing speed dating. I don't say that speed dating is insufficient. It's enough for short-term relationships, but not for serious dating. Correct me if I'm not right. 8 essential steps that will help you make your online dating experience secure and rewarding and more...10:33:43 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Tips You should be very cautious when dating online. Many people address this theme nowadays. The reasons are probably the increasing growth of scammed people. For example, founder of Yahoo personals dating site Barb Sluppick says 243 members who responded to a survey said they had lost a total of $2.2 million — about $9,000 a piece. (read more at www.abcnews.go.com) Besides, people cheat other memebers by telling incorrect personal data to get a more rated profile. There's also a new term "online cheating". On the whole there are many ways of distant dating. Of course, if you address a very safe dating site it's more secure. If you still feel uneasy with a dating site and the members, here are 8 essential steps that will help you make your online dating experience secure and rewarding: 1. Anonymous Dating 2. Overseas Contacts 3. Getting to know each other 4. Sending photos 5. Giving away your email address 6. Giving away your phone number 7. Meeting face to face 8. Advancing your relationship If you follow the steps there's probably a chance to find your love online. I wish you luck!
But according to a recent Neilsen NetRatings survey, more than one million Australians have looked for something far more valuable in cyberspace – love.People of all ages have dabbled in internet dating for a variety of reasons. Many have had enough of the singles bars, live in remote rural areas, don't have the time to search for their true love or are the last single person in their circle of friends. Psychologist, counsellor and relationship expert Frances Amaroux from Turning Point Communications says more and more people are turning to online dating due to drastic changes to our social structure in the past 20 years. "The workplace and our family and friends have become less of an opportunity to meet people," she says,-"More people are working from home and more families are breaking up. There's not that continuity of community that there used to be where you'd meet the girl or boy next door. While we've had this breakdown of communities at the same time the internet has been built up." David Chalke, chairman of the research group AustraliaSCAN, notes that the changed social conditions mean certain age groups are likely to find internet dating more attractive. He points out that there's a whole lot of people in their late 20s and early 30s who haven't got partnered up yet, perhaps because they're still living at home, they're doing the career thing or they haven't joined a sports club or a church group, or any of the places you used to find people in the past. Even at work it's very difficult to find a partner because of the sexual harassment legislation and you never know if you're going to face harassment charges for asking someone out. So much has worked against finding dates the traditional way. Chalke adds single parents or divorcees in their 40s who could also be a prime group for internet romance, due to their work and parenting commitments, changed social situations and the lack of opportunities to meet others. But there is no shortage of meeting sites on the internet, with each offering a service where a member can leave a detailed profile about themselves as well as a description of the type of person they are seeking. Most websites allow users to register for free, and join and search the profiles of the members. Fees are only charged when a user wants to contact another person listed on the site, and are charged either per contact or for a monthly subscription period. Internet dating can be a great way to meet people if it's done the right way. One of the most important things to do is prepare a thorough and accurate personal profile. Amaroux reports that online dating is like marketing, except the product you're trying to sell is yourself. She also advises online daters to think carefully about what they are looking for in a partner, and what would best suit them. Part of her practice involves coaching people thinking about internet dating to take a good look at themselves to help them determine the right partner for them. But anyone trying to get hit with Cupid's arrow on the internet also needs to take precautions. Some potential dates are a little loose with the truth when it comes to their own profiles. Many people lie about their age and, in some cases, post a photograph of themselves that could be up to 20 years old. Amaroux says honesty is definitely the best policy for anyone who's serious about finding a partner online. Chalke also warns that online daters might have to cut through some "chaff and dross" before finding a potential partner. In this sense, internet dating could be best handled like regular dating only backwards. Online, the idea is to get to know someone before you meet them. But Amaroux warns that you cannot tell everything about a person online. Humans take a lot of information from visual cues and research has shown that body language and even tone of voice can account for up to 90 per cent of the way we come across. Besides, as the specialist notices, when you're meeting face to face you're picking up lots more information like body language and tone which is very important when you're trying to suss somebody out. Online you're missing the tone and the body language and that means you could potentially get to like somebody before you assess chemistry. But while sharing information, a person should never give out any information such as their name, address or phone numbers in the introductory stage, she warns. A number of sites advise that if it does get to the stage where a meeting is arranged it should be in a public place and to let a friend or family member know where you're going. Participants also should not accept offers of transport. Depending on how you go about it, internet dating can have varying degrees of success. Internet daters find their chances of snagging a compatible partner are increased because they are before a much larger audience. But others argue that online dating could leave us lacking the confidence to meet people in the usual way. Amaroux contends internet dating is just a modern adaptation of what men and women have been doing for centuries. Online chatting – another popular form of the social side of the internet – has also taken an age-old habit and put a modern spin on it. For many users, the anonymity of chatting online can lead to what many feel is innocent flirting. But, according to Amaroux, this can also be considered cheating if either or both of the people is already in a relationship. "If you can't tell your partner what you're doing then it's a dead giveaway. The internet has made therapists and councillors redefine what cheating means." An alert husband and World Cup thief's own goal.10:14:15 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Humour Nowadays we're all inspired by a Football World Cup and those who didn't manage to get the tickets are ready for everything to see the show :) Here's a funny case that happened with unexperienced thief: A thief who stole a World Cup ticket from a woman's handbag was caught after sitting down to watch the game next to his victim's husband. The 34-year-old mugged Eva Standmann, 42, as she made her way to the Munich stadium for the Brazil-Australia game at the weekend and discovered the ticket in her bag. But as he took the woman's place in the stadium he was met by her husband Berndt, 43, who immediately called security. A Munich police spokesman said: "The thief found the ticket in the bag and decided to watch the game, not expecting to sit next to his victim's husband, who immediately informed officers on duty at the stadium." Dating Site for Kids. Is that possible?09:48:47 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
Not long ago, Industrious Kid Inc., developer of online destinations for children, has launched www.imbee.com; a new secure social networking and blogging destination for 8 to 14's. (read more at www.onlinepersonalswatch.typepad.com) At this site the attention is payed to friendly and funny atmosphere. Both children and thier parents can visit the site. Children join the community to make blogs and comments, to post photos and get more friends online. Parents register to monitor the progress and the texts, to see the creation of their child. This two-layer conception is supported by a joint membership for a parent and 2 children. Good idea really! I've found another featured site for children. It's www.beritsbest.com. As far as I can see it's a joint portal for kids' sites and communities. There's a catalogue of themes that might be interesting. And what's important is that the access to chat and dating should be approved by parents. This makes the online community safe for children in case their parents are reasonable. When making a research, a thought came into my mind: What about making a dating site for kids or teens? Sure, there are many points that should be cleared up before starting such a business, but I suppose it's worth thinking over. There's only one datail that seems to be difficult to realize. That is who will pay? If parents, I'm not sure about that cause not every parent will like the idea that their child is dating someone online... Mmm, that's a problem really.
Only if you take care about all these points you can make parents like th site and willingly pay for their kids. The charges shouldn't be very high, not to affect a family budget. On the whole Dating Site for kids can exist and be very popular within people. One of the reasons is that the Internet auditory is becoming younger and younger and we should target to this generation to make the site grow with then in future. If your profile is a mess then you won't get any results in online dating sphere. I've figured out several tips that helped me to make a very attractive profile and find dates online: * Populate your profile with lots of amazing details which will drive the reader's imagination. So, here they are. The tips that I've managed to gather. Hope they will help. Will be glad to see your additions. Adult and senior dating sites- unique communities.07:55:12 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Tips Adult dating sites are numerous and they are rather popular. I think you understand why. First of all, they gather people who are not ashamed of inner thoughts.Secondly, senior dating site is a perfect place to place your most cute photos :) Thirdly, at an adult dating site people feel more relaxed and besides, it's rather challenging. Of course, adult dating sites are funny and people there are having a good time, dating anonimously and enjoying the communication without any limits. Somehow Senior dating sites coinside with adult sites not because there are also undecent photos there (there are no), but because of the communities they gather. They give people a hope for the better in the older age when everything seems to be over. Hope unites people whatever they promote at a dating site. And really Senior dating sites are unique cause they have a special look and feel. They invite people of an older age and they have much to share and as for me I would be glad to make my grandma register at one of such sites cause she would be much happier with lots of people to talk to to. Suppose, such sites should make some parties for the members so that they could meet each other dance and have fun. When the question comes to compatibility, it's always interesting to know whether you fit each other. Does this info influence our life? I suppose yes. There are several reasons for that: These are the facts that do matter. As for me I do not really believe in horoscopes and predictions. If they are positive I would possibly believe in the words cause they give me a positive mood and I'm ready for new changes. If they are negative, I try not to believe and all goes fine. As for compatibility, it's interesting how sometimes the descriptions of some signs fit people and there's sometimes truth in compatibility tests. Of course they are just common words but they tell the initial truth sometimes. So it depends on a person whether to believe them or not. Where should I put my money, toward a better Web site or more online marketing?11:26:47 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles The short answer is both, says Greg Sterling at www.allbusiness.com. He notes that Web site without online marketing is a little like the proverbial tree falling in the forest -- it's there, but will anyone find it? If I were forced to come down on one side or the other, I'd say spend more on marketing. What form that takes and where you put those dollars depends to some degree on whether you're selling products or services. However, the challenge is that if you have an inadequate Web site or one that doesn't provide consumers with the right information or enough of it, all the online marketing in the world may not help. Online marketing, whether on directories, specialized vertical sites, shopping engines, or through search can deliver a potential lead to your door, but if you don't deliver what the consumer is looking for, you may never get that call or close the sale. Even sophisticated marketers and large companies often have trouble taking the hand-off from, say, Google or Yahoo! and closing the sale. What the consumer or prospect sees when he or she lands on your site is critical. That's why you must address both your site and online marketing; the two must work together. Think about the entire process from your customer's point of view. Where do you direct consumers when they arrive from third-party sites or search engines? Is it your home page, a deep link, or a specialized landing page? Here's what online marketing authority MarketingSherpa said about the comparative effectiveness of specialized landing pages vs. deep links or links to merchant home pages (in a paid-search context): Specialized landing pages without regular site navigation get the highest conversion rates. Marketers who send traffic to their regular home page get pitiful conversion rates. Folks who deeplink but leave standard navigation are usually somewhere in the middle. Our July 2004 survey clearly shows the paid search trend is toward . . . stupider marketing. Marketers using specialized landing pages -- 42 percent In other words, specialized landing pages performed the best, followed by "deep links" (to specific information on your site). Links to merchant home pages performed worst. All this goes to the question of taking your customers'point of view into consideration in designing your site and your campaign. As the data above indicate, the two must be integrated. If that all sounds complex, it is. Your site should be clear, simple to navigate, and include search functionality. Before deciding how and where to spend your money, decide whether your site is usable or needs an upgrade. Conduct a survey of customers, friends, relatives, and colleagues. What do they honestly think of your site, its strengths and weaknesses? Web design and hosting are becoming commodity products and it may be possible to upgrade your site or redesign it altogether relatively inexpensively. If you're a product seller with a huge catalog that may be a more complicated matter. Do some research online, talk to business associates and, after you've narrowed it down, call some Web hosting companies. Increasingly, small business Web hosts are also offering marketing services in simplified packages. Those include: Affinity Greg mentiones that these firms try to simplify the online marketing process and offer a range of services along with their Web-hosting packages. If your site doesn't need a makeover, you'll have to decide whether you want to outsource your marketing or do-it-yourself. There are an increasing number of companies, in addition to those mentioned above, that offer simplified online marketing for small businesses. And there are agencies that cater specifically to small business (mostly service providers). Among them are: Leads.com Whether to use these agencies depends on the nature of your business, your budget and your orientation to marketing. For those who are more ambitious and want to take a hands-on approach, there are a dizzying array of options and considerations. Many of those considerations and approaches are explored in articles on Internet marketing on AllBusiness.com. The research can be useful to Dating Site owners cause we sell communication and it's a service. Of course, marketing strategy is important but everything should be done in harmony. Today I found out an interesting and funny research about how we speak. Mike Durrett at www.humor.about.com noticed that when it comes to dating and men and women don't necessarily tell the truth -- at least, the real truth. Says Teresa Mannix at "Virtually Yours," home of this mating jargon translator, "The 'profiles' by which such people promote their availability can often be likened more to real estate advertisements than product descriptions and, like real estate advertisements, you can believe every word at your own peril." For example, when a man says he's "easygoing," what he really means is "I'm a slob and I leave the toilet seat up." When a woman says she's "confident," what she really means is "I could buy you and sell you (and probably will)." You'll find dozens of examples with enlightening definitions for each sex to compare and contrast. It's a good dictionary to master;) I should try it someday... Physiognomy Interface Technologies- a new radical concept in online dating.11:16:49 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
To view the StockGuru.com Profile for Physiognomy Interface Technologies, Inc., please visit: http://www.stockguru.com/ Thats' really challenging. If at online4 dating site we could launch such a software may be our users could check the Physiognomy specialities of the site members and get to know about them better from a simple photo! Wow! It’s summer! Time for speed dating and new ideas.09:07:43 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles Summer has come and many people have vacations. At the same time people start to feel more lonely cause they have more time and opportunities to spend time out doors and to travel. Summer is a wonderful season and it inspires people for dating. So, we can expect a flow of traffic to our dating sites. All you should do is to make them user- friendly and functional. Amd plus don't forget to edit a design for the Summer weather mood ;) Those who are single try to find pertners to travel and wish to have romance in the Summer. May be it's time to settle special sites for travellers or summer lovers and then convert it into the idea of seasonal dating site. That could be fun! In the Summer many site administrators are afraid to leave their business and have a rest. This position is clear: they want to monitor everything and think that without them their businass will fade. That's not right cause if you have right staff and good marketing basis it's always possible to plan everything for the holidays to avoid failures. Besides there can be a notice at the site for users to know you're offline for some time. You can give your customers a personal phone number for emergency calls. Do this and you can have a rest for several days. At online dating sites it's less visible. Users still register and make matches, write emails and chat. The only thing you still have to do is to approve the icons and photos they post (if you have such an option), process the membership payments if you practice it. Of course, in the summer people need something new and fresh. In such a situation you can use some principles of speed dating: For example, you can use the events module to publish the events that are to take place in your city or country. The memebers contact you and book tickets or order places. And as a result, your memebers meet offline and have a chance to know each other better. Another variant, you can organize a party and place a banner at your site for your users to know. There can be some anniversary or just a Summer holiday party. It's not just spending money on your users but also making a speed dating available at your site. Your memebers might like it:) If you have any other thoughts to share will be glad to discuss them here. There has never been a better time to be a small business owner!06:11:34 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
He also notes that if you are like other small business owners, you have limited knowledge in areas other than your core competencies. In a big company, however, there are plenty of people with diverse skills who can undertake various tasks. Steve advises to log on to SCORE.org, that’s what. SCORE, as you may know, is the Service Corp of Retired Executives. Their counselors have a full range of skills, and their counseling is free and confidential. While you can often visit a SCORE counselor in your region, you can now get counseling through their Web site. The author looks over different sides of small business and its opportunities. He mentions landing one of those big government contracts you are always hearing about. To make this real he offers to log on to Businessmatchmaking.com. Business Matchmaking is an innovative program sponsored by the Small Business Administration, Hewlett-Packard, and other private companies. It is a traveling expo that connects government agencies that have contracts to be fulfilled (by law, $23 billion a year in federal contracts are earmarked for small businesses) with appropriate small business owners. For me this site is also interesting as another dating site. As Steve advises to think of it as speed dating for small businesses. At Business Matchmaking expos, you can see available contracts from attending agencies and meet face to face with procurement officers from those agencies. In a typical day you might meet with seven different agencies looking to buy what you have to sell. And aside from big companies giving small businesses tools and opportunities to grow that they did not have only a decade ago, there are also amazing new markets available, enhancing this golden age of small business. In conclusion the specialist writes that between NAFTA, GATT, the fall of communism, and the emergence of China, new physical markets are available. Moreover, because the Internet has made it easy to sell to these markets, there is a relatively untapped virtual marketplace. It is indeed a great time to be an entrepreneur. I absolutely agree that the online market is worth to try. A woman of 98 who's been frying fish and chips for 80 years says her longevity is down to never eating anything else. Constance Brown, who has just been award the MBE, told the Daily Mirror. "That's all I eat. I don't eat any vegetables at all. "So I'm living proof you can eat nothing but fish and chips and still be healthy." Constance - always Connie to customers - still opens up Brown's Cafe in Pembroke, West Wales at 11.30am every day. She says she was surprised and honoured to hear she's to receive Royal recognition for services to business and the community. "I don't think I deserve the MBE - it's the public who seem to think I do," says Connie, who kept the shop open during the war years by cooking up corned beef rissoles to defy rationing. "I'm really surprised, but proud, that everyone seems to have that affection for me. It's an award for my customers and I would like to thank them all. I was shocked really because I didn't know anything about it." The latest update on the dating market situation mostly in Europe and trends.11:08:31 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Articles
Here are the most interesting questions discussed and Nate'a answers that were quite detailed: Who’s numbers does Jupiter Research use these days? Do you use ComScore? How does the European online dating market look? What is the fastest growing market in Europe? How about video dating? Is there a future? What overarching trends are you seeing? What’s hot? One of the things that we’ve seen out of the U.K. that we like is the short term subscription. At Dating Direct you can subscribe for just a couple of days for a reduced price. It gives you a chance to communicate with someone; it gives you a chance to reach out to someone if you like a profile without making a large financial commitment. But by registering for just a couple of days, for about the price of a drink or two in a bar, you’re potentially widening the number of people who would be willing to pay for your services. So this was the latest update on the dating market situation mostly in Europe and trends. Very optimistic, isn't it? When you're dating someone for a long time you get to know him or her very well, though there are still some details that you "shouldn't know" Today I would like to mention a past life of our partners. This matters especially when you are going to meeet tet-a-tet after months of correspondence. They have their "exs" for sure! How should we treat them? How can it affect your relationships? There can be 2 critical situations: 2. The ex may appear in your life immediately after your date. And in many cases you'll have to get used to her company. Usually such exs stay close with your partner, stating that they are only friends and trying to show that they know his or her ex much better then you ;) Do you recognize the sittuation? I do :) In such a situation the best way is to make friends with the ex and invite some friend of yours to distract the ex's attention:) This should work fine for the time being... And what next? Nothing, just love your partner and show your affection every time you have the opportunity. Give him or her the most precious moments in her/his life and be sure that no "ex" will break your relationship. I wish you luck! Does the way you meet someone make a difference in how the relationship develops?09:07:58 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Tips Places to meet your next date are numerous. You never know which one to choose and which one is better. The most interesting meetings happen in the most unexpected places. Wise Diva at http://www.ajc.com wonders if how you meet someone makes a difference in how the relationship develops. I suppose it makes a huge difference cause the places themselves bear some information about a person. Usually if you want to meet a bookkeeper you go to a seminar and if a reader- to a library and so on. Though I cannot say that it works in all the cases. Sometimes the intuit6ion fails us and we get the wrong person. To my mind the most certain dating scene is an online dating site. There are several reasons for that: 1) most of the dating sites are niche sites and they are themselves bare the knowledge about the community they have. 2) at a dating site you can use many additional tools to choose the right person. They are profile description, photos, forums, instant messaging, emails and chats. 3) Before dating you can have email correspondence for many months and get to know the person quite well before seeing him in a real life. 4) it's such a challenge to be involved into online dating cause you do not have to dress out for dinners and make faces, lie to people and stick to one partner. You're more free at a dating site! Besides when you meet your date at last you can visit all that ususal meeting places together and enjoy each other. As for the relationships development, I should say that online dating website is the most democratic place I've ever visited. And it doesn't put any additional content on people. As a result they are seen as they are (if they do not lie)and behaviour factor doesn't play so important role there. May be site administrators should get profit from these points somehow. Persuasive power of coffee in online dating industry.09:49:40 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Business Tips & Articles
SCIENTISTS have discovered why men are so keen to ask their date in for a coffee after a night out - it seems caffeine makes us more likely to say "yes". Moderate amounts of the coffee stimulant can increase people's willingness to be persuaded, say researchers. Scientists found that after consuming caffeine, volunteers were more likely to agree with persuasive arguments. Two experiments were conducted involving about 140 students who were questioned about how they viewed voluntary euthanasia and abortion. Volunteers were then asked to read persuasive messages about the subject that were opposed to their own opinions. Before reading the arguments, they were asked to drink either straight orange juice or juice laced with the caffeine equivalent of two cups of coffee. Finally, they were tested again on their attitude to the controversial topics. Under non-distracting conditions, caffeine increased the chances of the students changing their points of view.(read more at http://news.scotsman.com/) So can you imagine what effect it should make on people who watch TV drinking coke or coffee! Or on people who are in a chat or in the Internet cafe surfing through the Internet and drinking something like that! Dating site administrators should certainly place their ads near the coffee bars and on TV, cause in many times people eat or drink something at that time. And if you target at your local community then you should make a research on the hours they drink coffee and what channels they watch. Who knows, may be this will increase the traffic at your site. A new 100% free site for a couples and singles.08:48:00 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Articles eRomance.com is promising to change that. The website (www.eromance.com) is offering a full featured community for dating, discussions, and blogging - and its 100% free. “No credit card is ever required!” the website states confidently. “We will make money from advertising, not from subscriptions, and we anticipate rapid growth because we are offering a high quality service for no cost to the user. If you know someone who is dating online, why wouldn’t you tell them about eRomance?” says Neal Cabage, President of enLogica Inc., which owns eRomance.com. eRomance is positioning itself as the free alternative to other serious-relationship oriented sites such as eharmony.com. “We are not interested in being another online meat market dating site,” says Cabage. “Our core concept is Romance & Relationships, not simply dating. We are currently in Beta release and soon will be rolling out several new features that make it clear what we’re about, and we expect this to really help shape our community demographic and set us apart.” The site is said to be in Beta release because it recently launched and not all of the core features have been released yet. “Our doors are still open however and we are eager to receive new members at anytime, leading up to our official launch in Mid July. And yes, eRomance.com is committed to remaining 100% free even after its official launch in late July. “It is core to our business concept and will not change anytime soon,” Neal Cabage explained. (article source- www.prweb.com) I tried the site and it's fine, good looking but not very functional I should say. For example, there are 2 memebership options: basic and Community+ dating. Basic is for people who are already in a relationship and Community and dating is for those who look for romance online, that is singles. Basic memebership gives you an opportunity to create your own blog, fill in the basic profile and post to discussion forums. This is undoubtedly a niche website. The targeted auditory is people under fifty. The site has been designed to be easy for an older audience to use. After the expiry of a 30-day trial period, users are given 3 payment options for quarterly, semi-annual, or annual terms. Subscription fees range from $29.99 for 90 days through $79.99 for a year. Chief Information Officer Andrew Shaw believes experienced users will appreciate the "no-hassle" terms and conditions and simple interface, while novice users will appreciate the 30-day free trial and the built-in profile creation tools designed to help eliminate 'writer's block' that some may experience when asked to describe themselves. Fifty-Plus also announces the resignations of Gordon Poland as CFO, and Elliot Cohen as a director. The CFO position will be assumed by Eric Vengroff, President, on an interim basis. Mr. Poland previously held the dual position of President and CFO from 2002-2005, and Mr. Vengroff had previously been CFO, originally assisting in taking Fifty-Plus public in 1999.(read more at www.marketwire.com) The site can really have success as the population of the Earth is growing older and renewing slowly. Older age provides a chage in habits and people enjoy a slow way of life and long conversations. Dating Sites can help them a lot to find a person to talk to or spend a weekend or the whole life. Usually such people are lonely and they have much to share but nobody to listen. Sich sites is a change for them to find their match in their fifties :) I suppose it's great! I would like to try such a site someday or create my own for people of my age. YOU may be busier than you've ever been in your life but...04:58:29 by Julia Dorofeeva Categories: Dating Articles
According to JobBag, an IT development company, 80 per cent of small and medium businesses founder in their first five years mainly because they fail to monitor the key drivers that make the business profitable. The bulk of time is spent simply keeping track of the business, together with hiring, training and managing, says director Daniel Weinstein. "One of the first signs of trouble of any sized business is invariably when your gut feel for your business bears no resemblance to the accounts figures," he says. Mr Weinstein developed JobBag as a business management tool to help service-based industries such as advertising, graphic arts or accounting track jobs and eliminate revenue leakage. "When companies capture what it takes to get the job done – measuring the value of what needs to be done against what is actually done – it clarifies just where the profit leak is." Bill Shew, director of business owner services at consulting firm Grant Thornton, says many business owners fall into the trap of growing the business for growth's sake and assume it will have a positive profit impact. "You may look at increasing the turnover of the business through volume transactions yet lose your focus on the bottom line profit," Mr Shew says. "In the end the business owner, and the business, may end up working harder for no extra return on the time and funds invested." Grant Thornton is often referred business owners who are in trouble because they have grown too fast and have committed themselves to contracts they don't have the working capital to support. Mr Shew says good business management involves focused growth, defining your target market and budgeting your growth in sales to a manageable level. "This includes ensuring the extra growth does not require an increase in infrastructure or working capital funding greater than the margin you are making on those increased sales." The other problem is that many business owners take on too much thinking that they are the only ones that can do the job. "They work longer hours than any other employee but may not take the commensurate rewards," Mr Shew says. Businesses in start-up mode can be forgiven for taking on multiple roles but Mr Shew advises owners that there has to be light at the end of the tunnel. "The aim is to have a business that can operate without the business owner. "All things being equal the business should be more valuable because it can run by itself."
