The creators of a new online dating service lost their spouses in 2018.

Introduced through an online group of mourners, Michael Cook and Helene Brown came up with a way for young widowers to communicate. To do this, they decided to launch the 2nd Chances platform.

The updated Tinder Uni dating app can only be accessed by students with a uni email address. Once accessed, British users will need to verify this email address in order to access this feature.

The company has launched similar features in other countries, namely Tinder U for American college students.

Hinge plans to roll out selfie video verification next month. The company will ask its customers to take a video selfie on the online service to confirm they are real.

What’s more, Match Group wants to make use of machine learning technology and human moderators to compare facial geometry from video selfies with photographs on a user’s profile.
