$15000 bonus to a matchmaking agency for marriage in Shanghai

Due to the declining amount of marriages in the city, matchmaking agencies decided to join forces and create an association.

They exchanged the profiles of singles to increase the chances of finding the best match and announced the award of $15,000.

The Director of such alliance Xu Tianli explained how it is difficult for young people to find their SO, because of a busy life.

In Shanghai, there are 3 million single adults, from which 28 agencies cover more than 1 million singles.

However, some clients are worried about the privacy of their applications, they do not want to share their information across all matchmaking agencies.

Personality first… The new dating app that matches through psychoanalysis

Two sisters Jess and Lou Alderson launched the first dating app that analysis your personality type by Carl Jung’s theory.

Over 30,000 people signed up in SoSyncd and already one couple got married.

The app offers to newly signed up users to take a personality quiz and then shows possible matches. There is a unique algorithm that matches based on compatibility score.

SoSyncd is free for now, but at the end of this year plans to be paid.

$85 million dating app for gay men in China

Ex-policeman Ma Baoli when knowing about his orientation, felt lonely since in the community homosexuality was recognized as a mental illness.

Ma Baoli started with a blog about being gay, which consequently grew to a big forum for LGBTQ citizens of China, and launched Blued in 2012, after leaving police work.

58 million users from China, India, Korea, and Thailand are registered in Blued.

However, some users are looking for a hookup, Ma says there are many thankful letters from members who found long term partners.

Although Blued was shut down a couple of times, there is no big conflict with authorities.

Blued is not only the dating app but the platform where the LGBTQ community receives support, HIV awareness, and medical care through BlueCity. BlueCity platform offers HIV diagnostic kits and medical consultations.

Now, Blued is trying to improve the image by age and content control, after the case of an underaged boy registering in the app.

Overall, Ma believes that someday gay marriages will be possible in China.
