Tinder criticizes Apple for App Store

A statement was released criticizing 30% of Apple’s purchases on the App Store.

This statement was written by Match Group, the owner of Tinder, OKCupid, Match, and other dating sites.

Match Group’s spokesperson said: “Apple squeezes industries like e-books, music and video streaming, cloud storage, gaming and online dating for 30% of their revenue, which is all the more alarming when Apple then enters that space, as we’ve repeatedly seen.”

Chinese video matchmaking app raises over $100 M

Chinese app Yidui has completed Series B financing round.

Although they did not disclose the amount of raised funds, Yidui app got over $100 million since its 2018 release.

The main idea of the app is that every video date is overlooked by a matchmaker to guide their conversations and topics to help daters create a connection.

These video dates are also broadcasted so other users can watch them, contact the matchmakers, and send paid virtual gifts.

Taiwanese users of Ashley Madison swell by 70% after adultery ruling

On the 29th of May, the Taiwanese government decriminalized adultery and it’s no longer punishable by law.

And within 1 week after that, Ashley Madison, an affair dating site, saw a significant increase in new Taiwanese users. Getting almost 70% more users from this country than in the previous months.

The site team has also specified that Taiwan climbed to 7th place in terms of money spent.
